An advanced model of its IdeaWerk Pro 3D printer has been launched by RS Components. The printer, which is priced at £590, is capable of handling multiple types of filaments, including Flexible, PLA, ABS, PA/NYLON, PC, HIPS and PVA. The RS IdeaWerk Pro has many features in common with the RS IdeaWerk FDM 3D printer, which is selling at a reduced price of £490.

These features include: build volume of 150 x 150 x 140mm; minimum layer resolution of 0.18mm; and maximum print speed of 30mm3 per hour, which makes it one of the fastest 3D printers in its class. In addition to offering multiple filament options including PLA material, the RS IdeaWerk Pro features a heated bed that can handle 0 to 120°C and high-temperature extrusion up to 300°C.

Additional capabilities of the printer, available via the product’s touchscreen, include: temperature adjustment of extruder and heated bed; control of filament (in/out) and XYZ-axis movement; progress and status display; and temperature unit selection.

Designed to handle tough print jobs and deliver exceptional print output, plus offering a robust and sturdy construction, the printer is easy to use and also lightweight enough to be portable.

The printer can be used in either online or offline mode with connectivity via SD Card or USB. It is compatible with Mac OS and Windows OS versions including XP, Vista, 7 and 8/8.1, with no additional software or accessories necessary.
