Knowles is pleased to announce that the latest capacitor facility in Suzhou, China is fully operational. This completes the relocation of MLCC manufacturing from plants in the UK and Mexico. Located in the Xiangcheng Economic Development Area in Suzhou, the factory has 10Km2 of floor space. This reflects a significant investment in expanded capacity and provides space to grow the business.

The facility makes a broad range of MLCC products including standard, high voltage, high Q and application specific capacitors, as well as surface mount and feedthrough EMI filters.

Dave Wightman, President, Knowles Capacitor Division, remarked: “The completion of our latest factory is a great achievement for the Knowles capacitor business and everybody involved. It is the result of a lot of hard work, a big investment in time and money and gives us a facility that we can be proud of and use as a foundation to grow our business. This outcome could not have been possible without the help and understanding of our customers.”

The capacitor division of Knowles is the consolidation of Dielectric Laboratories (DLI), Novacap, Syfer Technology and Voltronics into a single organisation with a combined history exceeding 175 years. Whilst the production facility is fully ‘up and running’, the original R&D operations in the UK and North America continues to make great strides in the development of single and multilayer capacitors. Notable achievements over the last decade being a revolutionary product FlexiCap, used in safety-critical environments, winning the UK Queens Award for Enterprise and more recently ProtectiCap and StackiCap product lines.
