Mek used the Productronica show in Munich to proudly introduce the SpectorBOX X series, a modular full 3D AOI system for THT solder joints and THT components.

The integration of the Mek SpectorBOX with Haprotec’s automated production lines will enhance the quality and capabilities of Automated Assembly lines with AOI for THT.. Hands free Inspection of THT Components, Placement, Pin-In-Hole as well as Selective and Wave soldering is now possible. In addition, these automated lines can seamlessly integrate Track and Trace and MES systems including XML and RFID data transport.

Mek has announced the launch of its GTAz, an advanced optical head available on the company’s PowerSpector and SpectorBOX range of AOI machines. The GTAz delivers true Stereoscopic imaging using its 9 high speed (90 Fps) cameras operating in full 24 bit colour.

Mek (Marantz Electronics) is to showcase its range of AOI systems at productronica. Exhibits will include the new Mek ISO-Spector, an AOI system of 'true measurement' for the full across-the-board inspection of components and solder joints. ISO-Spector technology enables inspection of heights up to 30 mm (1.2in), and is immune to vibrations from nearby placement machines.

An electronics manufacturer has been announced as the AOI and SPI manufacturer of choice by GN Resound. Mek's PowerSpector FDAz 350L AOI system and S1 SPI system were chosen by GN Resound to manufacture it's components. GN Resound required cameras that were easy to set up, fast to use, with components and software that were upgradable.
