Partnership will deliver metal additive manufacturing solutions
Infosys and Renishaw, a world leader in metrology and additive manufacturing technologies have announced a strategic partnership to offer an end-to-end product development service using metal additive manufacturing (AM) technology. According to the companies, they are combining their engineering expertise and global resources to help customers accelerate their deployment of AM, also known as 3D printing, for volume production of end-use metal components. The two companies are currently working together on projects for customers located in Europe, Asia and North America.

Key developments in high-performance alloy production
Renishaw and Aeromet International just announced a collaboration to establish additive manufacturing process parameters and material properties for Aeromet’s A20X aluminium alloy.  A20X is a family of next generation high-strength aluminium alloy technologies, developed and patented by Aeromet. Following a successful debut at the Paris Air Show, last month, the two companies are working together to optimise the processing techniques for the high-performance alloy on Renishaw metal additive manufacturing (AM) systems.

Renishaw has said it will present its latest findings in additive manufacturing metal powder re-use at the fourth annual AMPM (Additive Manufacturing with Powder Metallurgy) conference 2017 - Bellagio Hotel, Las Vegas between June 13th-15th.Lucy Grainger, from Renishaw's additive manufacturing team, will deliver a talk in the powder recycling track on Wednesday June 14th at 2.15pm.

3D printing increases Land Rover BAR’s performance
Like many other cutting edge technologies – artificial intelligence, big data analytics – additive manufacturing (3D printing) has been incorporated into daily use at Land Rover BAR with the help of the team’s Technical Innovation Group (TIG). In this case, TIG partner Renishaw, a global metrology firm which manufactures metal additive manufacturing machines, as well as working with the more familiar 3D printing in plastics for its own prototyping.

Renishaw is collaborating with Dassault Systèmes as part of its commitment to provide software for metal additive manufacturing (AM). As a result, users of Dassault Systèmes 3DEXPERIENCE platform applications can now design, optimise, simulate and set up AM builds directly for production on Renishaw’s AM systems, which build 3D metal parts using laser powder bed fusion technology.

Dedicated healthcare facility opened in South Wales
A Healthcare Centre of Excellence has been announced by Renishaw at its Miskin site, located close to Cardiff, South Wales. The Centre, which was formally opened on 29th September by The Rt. Hon Carwyn Jones AM, First Minister of Wales, provides a facility for the manufacture of custom medical devices, as well as education and training for the life sciences community.

French Moto2 team TransFIORmers won its first race at the CEV Repsol European Championship in Barcelona in June 2016. The team used a front suspension system including an additively manufactured (3D printed) titanium wishbone produced using Renishaw’s AM250 manufacturing system.

Renishaw, the global engineering technologies company is presenting new products at formnext 2015, which takes place in Frankfurt, from 17th-20th November 2015. The company will be exhibiting as Renishaw plc, with the main stand in Hall 3.1, stand E60 and as Renishaw LBC Engineering, on stand D78. The new products include two new metal additive manufacturing (AM) systems and a new build preparation software package.

Renishaw has 3D printed a special gift fit for royalty. The company additively manufactured a replica of its nineteenth century Mill headquarters building and gave the unique piece to Her Royal Highness, The Princess Royal, when she officially opened Renishaw's new Innovation Centre and presented the company with its eighteenth Queen's Award. The visit came 35 years after HRH The Princess Royal opened an extension to the company’s first commercial premises.

  Having obtained a compliance certificate from TÜV SÜD for its AM250 laser melting machine, Renishaw intends to help 3D printing evolve from being considered an emerging technology, reserved for design and testing, into a mainstream manufacturing tool.
