A range of structural adhesives has been added to DELO's existing product portfolio. Boasting a shear strength of 12 MPa at temperatures up to +220 °C, the adhesives have been specifically designed for when components due to be bonded are exposed to high temperatures. DELO claim that the adhesives approximate a gain of 50% compared to established products, as many adhesives exhibit a strong performance drop at temperatures above +150 °C.

Up to 3 N/mm² is possible, even when the bonded connection is subjected to +220 °C, thanks to an increased glass transition temperature and an improved long-term temperature stability,. The tensile strength after intensive tests, in which the adhesive is stored at a temperature of +220 °C for 1,000 h, is still above 80% of the initial value. This enhancement of one-component epoxy resins clearly expands their temperature range of use.

A range of application possibilities in mechanical engineering are possible thanks to the adhesives’ mechanical properties. For example, DELOMONOPOX HT282 with aluminum filler is used for bonding magnets in electric motors as it can withstand dynamic stress thanks to its high impact resistance. In contrast, DELOMONOPOX HT281 with mineral filler is electrically insulating. This product bonds and casts components in electric motors, and can also be used in applications where excellent chemical resistance is required, for example slide ring seals. Tried and tested processing properties enable simple and fast dispensing. In addition, the adhesives can be processed within a period of up to four weeks at room temperature.
