Having installed an extremely versatile Mimaki UJF-6042 UV curing LED digital inkjet printer, Verotec can offer ultra-high resolution 1800x1800dpi digital printing in up to 65,536 individual colours as part of their enclosure modification services.

The flatbed size is A2, 420x594mm, with a throat height of 150mm, enabling up to 13U 19” plastic and painted or anodised metal panels to be printed with legends, logos and complex photo quality graphics in many different textures across the complete surface of the panel, without any margins being needed around the periphery.

Multiple smaller panels can be printed in one pass, reducing costs and cycle time. Digital printing is ideal across all volume requirements as expensive setup and tooling costs are not incurred, so the process is very cost effective at lower volume requirements. Typically, printing is required on enclosure and subrack front panels, 19” rack cases and similar metal and plastic electronic enclosures.

The Mimaki machine is fully integrated with Verotec’s CAD systems, so customers need only supply a high resolution PDF, DWG/DXF or EPS file. The data path from customer to print centre is homogeneous, ensuring that ISO9001 traceability is preserved. The process also enables different iterations to be easily created, making it a simple procedure to add barcodes, QR codes or sequential serial numbering if required.
