It has been announced that MAGIC-BOM is the latest feature in the PCB-POOL configurator from the prototype specialist and PCB manufacturer Beta LAYOUT. MAGIC-BOM creates a Bill of Material (BOM) for PCB assembly as if by magic.

The prototype specialist and PCB manufacturer Beta LAYOUT has simplified the online ordering process for printed circuit boards. The redesigned PCB-POOL online calculator now allows the direct data upload of a PCB design via Drag & Drop in several native file formats. Current accepted files formats include Altium Designer, EAGLE, Target 3001!, KiCad and Gerber X2.

  Exhibiting again at this year’s electronica is Beta LAYOUT, with interesting innovations to show. A highlight of Beta LAYOUT’s trade fair presence is its single-source prototyping and small-series manufacturing of 3D Mechatronic Interconnect Devices (MIDs).

Modern electronic equipment typically requires that the circuit must be accommodated within the limited space of a housing or enclosure. When conventional PCBs (2D) are no longer suitable, the switch to 3D circuit carriers optimises the use of the available space.

Two years ago Beta LAYOUTs technology for embedding RFID technology (Magic-PCB) was patented in the USA. In a continuing process this technology was evaluated according to US safety standards for electronic products. Recently Beta LAYOUT received a Certificate of Compliance from Underwriters Laboratory (UL) for Magic-PCB which confirms the RFID embedding technology meets the industry’s requirement.

  Customers can now use Beta LAYOUT’s PCB-POOL manufacturing service to produce flexible PCB designs. This service combines numerous PCB designs and manufactures them together, eliminating tooling charges and reducing the overall cost for the customer.

  Beta LAYOUT will exhibit solutions for automatic 3D data conversion and 3D-MID (Moulded Interconnect Device) prototyping. A comprehensive 3D package, 'brd - to - 3D' enables customers to create the complete virtual circuit board package directly from an EAGLE *.brd file.
