Kit mixes, dispenses and sprays conformal coating

Kit mixes, dispenses and sprays conformal coating
Electrolube just launched a one-time use kit to mix, dispense and spray its 2K300 conformal coating. The kit is said to offer advantages for customer trials and spray-testing requirements as it facilitates full testing and evaluation of the 2K300 series without taking existing dispensing equipment out of production. 2K300 is a two-part system, offering  flexibility and low stress across an operating temperature range of -40 - +130°C. The coating is hydrophobic and is said to be highly resistant to condensation, salt mist and chemicals and is fully IPC-CC-830 compliant.

Thermal greases or thermal phase change materials – you choose

Thermal greases or thermal phase change materials – you choose
As many of you know, providing an adequate thermally conductive interface between a component and its heatsink is essential to achieving long life and reliability. Traditionally, thermal greases have been the material of choice in this area, but new thermal phase change materials are now said to offer a stable alternative that is easier to apply. Thermal greases have relatively low thermal resistance and offer excellent thermal performance for a vast range of applications. Their ability to provide that all-important thermal interface has been proven time after time and they have consequently become the material of choice for the thermal management of power electronics.

Encapsulation resin protects underwater LED unit

Encapsulation resin protects underwater LED unit
Electrolube was recently approached by a company in Australia for assistance with a particularly unusual application. The customer needed protection for an underwater LED lighting unit. The encapsulation resin needed to be light blue for aesthetic purposes and had to be able to withstand water temperatures between 5 to 40°C, as well as being flame retardant.  The customer specifically asked for a sample of a very flexible encapsulation resin that could resist attack from constant immersion in pool water. Critically, this water could be salt water or fresh water.
