TE Connectivity (TE ) has acquired Kemtron, a United Kingdom based provider of EMI/RFI shielding, environmental sealing, gaskets and components.

Kemtron’s new EMI gasket is a flat sheet material comprising a solid silicone rubber, embedded with Monel or Aluminium metal wires orientated perpendicular to its surface. According to the company, excellent RFI/EMI/EMP shielding performance is achieved as the material has a wire density of up to 140 wires/ CM2 in solid silicone providing an environmental and RFI/ EMI seal when clamped between two metallic surfaces.

Kemtron has appointed Victoria Jane Tsoi as its new Managing Director. The appointment is effective 11th January 2016. Victoria succeeds the current Managing Director, David Wall, who will become a Director and Chairman of the company.

Kemtron has revealed that they will be exhibiting on stand A2 548 at Electronica 2012 its range of RFI/EMI shielding gaskets and components. The range includes highly conductive elastomers which consist of silicone and fluorosilicones loaded with conductive particles such as silver plated copper, silver plated aluminium and nickel coated graphite.

Kemtron has introduced a RoHS compliant aluminium passivation process for its aluminium honeycomb EMC ventilation panels. The process has eliminated the hexavalent chromium which is present in some aluminium passivation processes. The new conversion coating meets the requirements of Mil-C-5541E for corrosion and electrical conductivity.
