The Pilot 4DV8 flying prober from SEICA will be on display at the MRO show in Dallas (April 5-7). The  flying prober is developed to “reverse engineer” circuit cards used for data regeneration activityWorking only with a circuit card or line replaceable unit (LRU) the Seica Pilot4DV8 can, in short time, create all details from the board net list to a schematic.

Users can then go to the next step and generate a test program so the boards returning from the field can be easily tested, repaired and returned to the fleet.

However, creating lost data or test programs for circuit cards, is not the only activity the “V8” can be used for.  It also contains thermal sensing flying probes, and LED flying probes to test the temperature profiles of the chips on the boards or particular areas of concern, whereas, the LED sensors can be testing the very critical specifications of the LEDS themselves, such as, intensity, lumens, and wavelength.

However, for the mil/aero sector sometimes it would be necessary to “power up” the board also to “green light” the board not just at the component level but at the functional test level.

Seica’s high power flying probes can then be used to power up the board and check functionality using Seica’s functional language or even 3rd party software tools such as National Instruments LabView.
