A smart camera family, designated the RazerCam series, has been introduced by EVT. The series includes a line scan camera, making the camera suited to 2D and 3D print layout inspection. The camera is suitable for high-speed applications thanks to the free programmable FPGA data being preprocessed in real time, in addition to the integrated ARM Cortex A9 cores.

The integrated colour sensor offers speed in print inspection, while precision is delivered at even during the highest process velocity of several hundred meter per minute. Even when there are line fluctuations or bow, inspection of the complete printed design is secured. The line scan camera recognises not only the common errors in printing quality such as pinholes, but also surface errors such as e.g. scraper marks, scratches, dust or stains.

Applicable for all printing processes and methods, the RazerCam is offered as either a standalone or integrated in a printing machine. When integrated into the printing machine, the print inspection can be carried out during the print or during the packaging. The system can also check the position of a label on bottles and so forth.
